Assisted access scheme

This membership scheme is for people with disabilities who need an assistant to help them use the services in the theatres.

The scheme allows members to buy an additional ticket for the assistant at half the standard price.

What is an assistant

An assistant is someone who can help the disabled person access services that, without their help, would be inaccessible.

The assistant should:

  • familiarise themselves with the layout of the theatre and the location of services
  • liaise with theatre staff if the disabled person needs help
  • take instructions should there be a need to evacuate the building
  • always attend to the needs of the disabled person while on the premises.

Theatre staff will advise and aid the assistant but will not carry out the assistant's duties.

The membership scheme is not open to or intended for those who simply want a companion or need help getting to the theatres.
